“Caroline is an understanding and enthusiastic trainer who runs a friendly, yet highly professional yard. All my horses have stayed at Caroline’s in recent years and the same care and attention is given to my retired 27 year old as my 5 year old dressage prospect.
There is a clear structure to the training and my horses are happy and really enjoy the work. The emphasis is on getting the basics right and the rest will follow.
For me, with an erratic work schedule, Caroline has always been extremely accommodating and taking my horses in for training at short notice, if my work pressures get too much. Equally, Caroline is happy to visit my yard to teach. The strength and improvement in my horses, and my riding, since I meet Caroline has been enormous. I would highly recommend Sparks Equestrian to anyone.”

“I have had my horse in livery for 25 years and during that time I have experienced a number of yards in Surrey and Hampshire. Even a well-managed training/livery yard can have problems because of a poor landlord and a yard with excellent facilities can be poorly managed. So, I was struggling to find a yard that ticked all of the boxes. That was until I came across Sparks Equestrian, owned by Caroline Sparks, who is the yard manager, an advanced dressage rider, and an empathetic trainer rolled into one.
I moved my mare to Sparks Equestrian in June 2012 and have had total peace of mind about my horse’s care ever since. Caroline and her team combine the professionalism and discipline needed for competition success with the empathy needed for a happy home for your horse and Caroline is always on hand to offer guidance and support, whether in relation to horse care or training. Each horse/owner is treated as an individual and nothing is too much trouble. My sensitive mare settled into the yard immediately and consistently shows me, through her wonderful physical condition and her relaxed behaviour, that she is very content and happy there. The facilities are genuinely five-star; the internal stabling and new indoor school mean that my horse and I are immune from the worst the British weather can throw at us and there is also an outdoor arena and generous grazing and a warm and spacious tack room and kitchen. Caroline and her husband David grow their own hay and there is plenty of storage for the other essentials that have to be bought in. From a security perspective, it is very reassuring that Caroline lives just across from the yard and that my horse will have a late-night check to make sure she is comfortable. Last, but not least, I find the yard a beautiful and relaxing place in which to spend time with my horse and it even boasts stunning views in every direction. I simply have not looked back since moving my horse there.”
